When a Momma Fails

Whenever a momma fails, it’s almost always that she didn’t. It is most likely that we as mommas only feel like we did. We are only human and as humans we make mistakes. We learn and do better the next day. It is only when we stop trying to be better and do better that we truly fail.
During times when we feel like we are failing as mommas, maybe we can remind ourselves of a few things:
I am learning more each day.
Again, we only fail whenever we don’t learn from our mistakes. It’s normal to get something wrong sometimes. Parenting is hard! Is there a perfect parent who knew everything from day one? I don’t think so! As long as we learn from these mistakes, we haven’t failed yet.
I am the best momma for my child and I am doing the best that I can each day.
There is no better parent for your child than you and your husband. You are the best mom for your child and no one else. As long as we are doing our best every single day, then we have not failed.
Today was difficult for sure, but tomorrow is another day.
Remember to take it one day at a time. It might feel like endless stretches but we have to change the way we look at things. When we break down our lives into days, our tired, exhausted momma episodes will seem shorter too, just a day in fact. Tomorrow will become a new day for us. A fresh day to parent our kids.
I am allowed to have a hard day because I show up for my child every single day.
Mom guilt comes partly I believe in feeling like we as mommas need permission to not be perfect. As a mom, we are often told that we are supposed to treat motherhood as a gift and a blessing, which it is, but not a lot of us talk about how hard it is too. We can have hard days and still love our children. We might be our grumpiest today but we show up. Being there for your kid and showing up every single day is far from failure.
Worrying about failing as a momma, already makes you a good mom.
We should try to remember that our child simply needs above all, to be safe, fed and loved. Naturally there’s more like education, values, happiness and other things but during those hard days being safe, fed and loved is more than enough. Besides momma, the fact that we worry about failing our children already makes us good moms, too.
Being a good momma seems like a tall order some days. I have definitely had my share of those days where I feel like I am not good enough. I question whether I am enough for my child. I stress myself over wondering what things I can do better for him. I tire myself figuring out what I can change about myself to be a better mom. I worry so very much. All the time. I’m sure you do all of those too, right?
Mom guilt is so hard! Especially when you are dealing with other thing in life (like loss, change, stress), you show up but aren‘t really all there. I struggled with this for a long time.
I know what you mean. I occasionally deal with this especially when I know I’m not as present as I would like to be as a parent.😅 we are all works in progress!🙌
Key is to take each day, hour and minute as it comes because who knows when the next tantrum, poo-splosion or milestone will happen in front of you. haha. Great post 🙂
Thank you! And yaaaas to all. 😉 life with kids is certain unpredictable and we just have to learn some days to roll with the punches😅
Such great reminders!! If you loved your child today, then today wasn’t a failure! ❤️
Exactly! Sometimes the simplest things are everything!😉♥️ thank you!
